Visit to Pembrokeshire - November 2022
In November I visited my friends who live in Pembrokeshire, Wales for my Birthday.
We had a fantastic time, made even better with a visit to Bosherston Lily Ponds at Stackpole to see if we could see the otter families. We visited on the Saturday and the Sunday and were not disappointed by either visits. As you will see not only did we have the amazing luck of seeing the otters but we also spotted some fabulous Heron's and the most gorgeous Swan reflection which is now amongst my favourite of photos.

In July I had a wonderful trip over to Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire.
A little Birthday treat from some very lovely friends.
I had the most fabulous day on Skomer.
The puffins were so much smaller than I thought they would be, and they were everywhere!
Skomer Island is a photographers dream day out!

I have been so lucky to have this beautiful Mandarin duck on our local river.
Sadly he is on his own and no sign of a partner but hopefully he will find a partner soon.
He seems happy to be swimming around with the Mallards.

I borrowed a Sigma ring flash and used a Macro lens (Sigma 105mm). I had some great teachers and I hope you like my first dabble! We were lucky enough to see a Large Copper - which is known to be extinct.
PS I have just ordered the ring flash so there will be no stopping me now !!

This was from a trip to Bushy Park during the seasonal rut.
It was an amazing experience, the deer are best viewed from a distance though so a zoom lens is an essential !!

On the River Lambourn behind my house, we have the good fortune of having Kingfishers.
Often seen perching on the branches waiting for their catch or sometimes just a flash of blue streaks past! I have enjoyed many happy hours sat on the bank photographing them.

These photos were taken when a pair were on top of a local Church tower in Newbury.
It is a popular place for them, they have a nesting site nearby and often they are found on the Church tower as there are lots of pigeons !
